Colloid is a mixture of the situation between the solution and suspension. Colloidis a heterogeneous system, in which a substance is "dispersed" into ahomogeneous medium. The size of the dispersed substances range from onenanometer (nm) up to one micrometer (μm).
If we mix the milk (eg, instant milk) with water, milk was "late" but the "solution" isnot clear but murky. If ignored, the mixture was not separated and can not beseparated by filtration (screening results remain murky). In the macroscopicmixture looks homogeneous. However, if observed with a microscope ultra wasstill distinguishable particles of milk fat dispersed in the water. Mixture like this iscalled a colloid.
Thus, colloidal mixture of heterogeneous and are classified as two-phase system.Didipersikan substance that is called the dispersed phase, while the medium used to disperse the substance is called the dispersion medium. Dispersed phase is discontinuous (intermittent), while the dispersion medium is continuous. In the milk mixture with water, the dispersed phase is fat, while the dispersionmedium is water.
TYPES OF COLLOIDS
classification system based on the type of colloidal dispersed phase and phase dispersing its phases.
